Welcome back to the recap of my Chakra series from my Reiki4Writers blog!!!
If there is one energy center that proves problematic for many people, it is the Solar Plexus chakra. It is the seat of our ego and will and often makes life difficult by promoting separateness rather than unity; I above we; and can be governed by shame, guilt and feelings of abandonment and lack of control. That’s why it’s so important to get and keep the flow going in this Chakra.
The third chakra, the solar plexus chakra, is also known as the power chakra. It is the house of the personality, purposefulness, endurance and self-esteem. Yellow is the color of this chakra that is located between the ribcage and the navel. Body parts associated with this chakra are the stomach, intestines and digestive system. Aromatherapy scents: lemon, bergamot, and peppermint. Corresponding crystals are citrine, aventurine, and yellow calcite.
A person with a balanced power chakra is outgoing, sociable, confident. Signs of an unbalanced third chakra are aggression, low self-esteem, critical, addictive personality.
The third chakra houses the ego the part of our psychological make-up that causes the most problems and opportunities. We all need an ego, buy it doesn’t necessarily have to be the part that controls everything. Learning to quiet the voice of the ego, the demands of the “I” can do wonders for your life.
It is amazing to me how much I have learned since posting this rudimentary tour around the chakras a few years ago. The information below has been updated, but still reflects a traditional view of the chakras to some extent. Having studied womb awakening, I’ve come to understand a bit more complex view of these energy centers. For example, for a long time many people debased the first three chakras, calling them the lower chakras, implying that their health and functioning was of little importance to spiritual transcendence. However, there is a more feminine way of viewing the chakra system which I will pause to examine in my next Monday Message post.
