I have to confess I do love a great card deck. I’ve been reading tarot since I was 14, introduced to the idea by my high school friend, Marianne Nardi. Little did I know that one of my grandmothers used to read tarot for a little extra money way back in the day. Whatever talents I have I come by honestly, endorsed by my ancestors, apparently.
Anyway, my buddy Lubaina Choudhury introduced me to another deck–The Sacred Rebels Oracle by Alana Fairchild. This is not a tarot deck, but 44 cards, each with a message and a suggested healing process to deal with whatever issue is brought up by the cards. The deck is billed as “guidance for living a unique and authentic life,” and it doesn’t disappoint. If you would like a deck of your own, you can get them here.
For our Monday card message, I picked from this deck Seeing the True You. The message for this oracle talks about seeing ourselves reflected in the eyes of the people around us. Sometimes, we are pushed by the people around us to view ourselves in particular ways that may not be in alignment with how we perceive ourselves. Sometimes we allow the voices of others to supersede our own. We are not secure enough in knowing who we are that we listen to any other strong voice that offers clarity.
The time is now to explore those inner depths of self and soul to reinforce your own vision of who you are. If you feel confused or unfocused, that only means it is time to search your inner landscape for answers. Trust the guidance you receive there and begin to act on it to formulate or hone your goals moving forward.
To help you do just that, Lubaina and I are starting a women’s group meeting on the full moon of each month to help women delve into their inner depths, as women and as individuals. If you live in New York, we would love for you to join us. You can find our event here.
